The caves at Ridi Vihara. The ledgend says that Silver ore that was found at the cave [Rajatha Lena- Silver cave- where the Pahala vihara is built ]was discovered by some merchants passing through the way after offering Sweet Jackfruit to an Arahath Thera living in one of these caves here at the time King Dutugemunu was ruling from Anuradhapura and was constructing the Ruwanweli Maha Seya or the Ruwanweli Stupa or Dageba.The merchants informed the king about the Silver ore and the Silver found from here was used to construct the Ruwanweli Stupa by King Dutugemunu.
